Opportunity for a Design Engineer to join the mechanical design team and be responsible for the design & implementation of engine test equipment within the Europe R & D Centre.
The successful person will be responsible for the design of components and assemblies which could include engine rigging systems, mechanical systems, driveline components, and unique test rigs.
This is an opportunity to work with lots of different platforms and engine series and will be a chance to see the products from conception to production.
Creo and team centre is the software used, so a good working knowledge of solid modeling (CREO), detail drawing, and geometric tolerance, coupled with experience and a comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practice is required. The role involves lots of challenging tasks and one-off designs. Simple to complex, so a wide variety of work.
What to expect… There will be lots of customer interactions and design reviews on a regular basis. You will be hands-on with measurements and equipment. This is in a research environment, working with one-off parts. These are made quickly in this role, so they will be designed and then put into production and testing quickly. You will need experience with different materials. Work closely with in-house machine shops and rigging teams and validation teams to understand requirements.
