Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer from the energy, automotive or aeronautical industry, looking for a new challenge? Dynamic startup based in Shanghai but with international reach, who are designing a revolutionary energy storage system focused on solving the intermittency problem of renewables and are looking to build on their highly talented team.

About the Company

This company designs, will manufacture and sell a kinetic battery based on the flywheel principle, with a focus on high capacity, low energy loss and high energy density. Their system is safe, respectful of the environment, fully recyclable and very low cost. They're on a mission to change the world by helping to limit climate change and enable a future where fossil fuels are history.

Role and Responsibilities

You will be joining a dynamic team of engineers where you will have the freedom to express your talent and have a true impact. You may already be working in the energy, automotive or aeronautical industries, building large rotating machines such as jet engines, gas turbines, wind turbine drive trains and composite structures, etc. In this role, you will be working on a guiding system and rotor design and will be responsible for:

  • Design and simulation, actionable feedback to the design team (CAD)

  • Test and validation

  • Component supplier identification and selection

Your Skills and Experience

You will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, plus 3-5 years' experience in mechanical engineering in the following areas:

  • Finite element analysis

  • Composite material simulation

  • Rotating machinery dynamics

  • Vibration testing and data analysis

  • Data post processing related to strain gauge, accelerometers, temperature, etc.
